XR in Japan 2026.06.25

A thorough explanation of the latest trends in AI and smart glasses, based on on-site coverage, will be held at the “WWDC & AWE Report Meeting” on June 30th!

This is an event announcement from Mogura VR.

Mogura VR will be holding an online event, “WWDC × AWE Report Meeting,” on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, starting at 6 PM. The participation fee is 2,000 yen, and the capacity is 100 people.

WWDC is Apple’s annual developer event where next-generation operating systems and new products are announced. AWE (Augmented World Expo) is a major event in the XR industry, bringing together the latest technologies and business case studies from around the world. Due to its industry-specific nature, it is characterized by the exchange of information that can predict developments one to two years in advance, which are not reported by major mass media.

The smart glasses industry is currently attracting particular attention. At ARW, Snap’s “Spectacles,” which operates standalone, and XREAL’s “AURA,” which runs on Android XR, were announced. In addition to the evolution of devices, there are other trends that can only be seen through on-site reporting, such as the competition among component manufacturers handling sensors and display technologies, and the reality of B2B deployments on a scale of thousands of units in Europe and the United States. This event will delve deeper into these latest trends based on on-site reporting.

Two speakers will be appearing at this event. Nishida Munechika, a freelance journalist, specializes in personal computers, digital AV, and networking, and has contributed numerous articles to major newspapers and websites, as well as authored several books. Kubota Shun, editor-in-chief of Mogura VR, specializes in the combination of AI and XR, and smart glasses, and provides trend analysis and consulting in the virtual domain.

The event will include on-site reports from both parties, a discussion, and a Q&A session.
Participation requires the purchase of a ticket. Please note that registration will close once the maximum number of participants is reached.

Tickets are available here.
