FUJIFILM Photo Exhibition “PHOTO IS: Connecting Thoughts – You Are the Star of the Photo Exhibition 2026,” will once again feature a VR PHOTO category. The application period is until Wednesday, May 20th.
This project is a joint initiative between FUJIFILM and the Make Smile Project. We are seeking photographs taken within VRChat that capture unique VR moments, such as avatars or virtual landscapes. The entry fee is 660 yen (tax included). A 152 x 152 mm square print will be delivered to your home approximately one week after submission.
The exhibition will be held at three venues in Tokyo, Sendai, and Osaka, as well as online (please check the list below for the exhibition schedule). The online exhibition will be held on a special page on the official website from September 25th (Friday) to December 20th (Sunday). All submitted works will be exhibited at the venue of your choice and online.
The venue will also feature a “Bond Post” project where visitors can leave handwritten messages for the exhibited artworks. The collected messages will be sent by mail to the address registered during the application process.
In recent years, FUJIFILM has continued its efforts related to photography in VR. In February 2024, it opened “House of Photography in Metaverse,” a web metaverse equipped with a virtual showroom, gallery, and community area, for the Japanese market. In October 2025, it held the “VR PHOTO COMPETITION 2025 Supported by FUJIFILM,” a photo contest for works taken within VRChat, and exhibited the winning entries at FUJIFILM SQUARE in Tokyo Midtown.
