Tobu Zoo’s permanent VR facility “VR BASE TOKYO” opens on March 28th, offering multiple content including a large-scale free-roam VR shooting game

A permanent VR experience facility, “VR BASE TOKYO,” will open at Tobu Zoo in Saitama Prefecture on Saturday, March 28th.

“VR BASE TOKYO” is a VR attraction facility centered around a large-scale free-roam VR shooting game where you can enjoy PvP (competitive multiplayer) (free-roam VR: a format where you can experience VR while actually walking around a large space).

The facility will open a temporary store at Tokyo Tower from January to April 2025, attracting a total of approximately 20,000 visitors. In December 2025, the first permanent store in Japan will open in Fukuoka.

This opening is part of Tobu Zoo’s 45th anniversary project. The VR facility “HEAD ROCK VR,” which has been operating at the zoo since 2019, will be renovated as “VR BASE TOKYO.”
The three new features being introduced are “VR Saba Spo INFINITY,” “Ultra Reverse Bungee,” and “VAR BOX.” Even after the update, “WILD IMMERSION,” “EXTREME TRAIN,” and “STORM BLIZARD” will remain available.

Dynamo Amusement Co., Ltd., which operates the park, has 25 years of experience in the location-based entertainment business, including its predecessor company, and provides content utilizing XR technology to theme parks, amusement parks, events, and more.
