Shiftall has released a major update to its full-body tracking app, “Shiftall VR Manager,” and has begun beta testing the new “Rotational Misalignment Correction 2.0” feature.

Shiftall Inc. released version 1.12.4 of its posture estimation app for the HaritoraX series on May 15th. The highlight of this update is the addition of a new feature, “Rotational Shift Correction 2.0”.

The “HaritoraX” series is a full-body tracking device that allows you to move your avatar’s entire body within VR applications. It uses ultra-small, ultra-lightweight sensors attached to various parts of the body, enabling real-time tracking of the avatar’s full body movements in VR applications such as VRChat. It’s compatible not only with gaming PCs but also with standalone headsets like Meta Quest and Pico. “Shiftall VR Manager” is a dedicated pose estimation application for using the HaritoraX series with SteamVR.

The IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) tracker used in the HaritoraX series has the advantage of maintaining uninterrupted tracking regardless of the user’s posture. However, in environments where the geomagnetic sensor is difficult to operate, a problem arose where the avatar’s feet and chest would gradually shift due to drift after prolonged use.

The “Rotation Misalignment Correction 2.0” feature implemented in this update was added to mitigate these issues. It is said to provide correction performance that minimizes misalignment even when used in Mode:2, which is known to be particularly prone to misalignment, even after hours of continuous use. This feature can be turned on or off in the app’s detailed settings.

The new features are also available on older models such as the HaritoraX Wireless and wired versions of the HaritoraX. Shiftall will now begin full-scale testing of the functionality on older models, and is asking users who try it early to provide feedback via the official Discord server or by replying to X. Note that to use rotation shift correction 2.0, you will need to switch to the beta version from the detailed settings within the app.

Shiftall VR Manager is available for free on Steam. It requires one of the HaritoraX series devices to use. Compatible models include HaritoraX 2, HaritoraX 2 Pro, HaritoraX Wireless, HaritoraX 1.1, HaritoraX 1.1B, and HaritoraX.
