Popular VR horror attraction “Labyrinth of Fear: Labyrinth” will be held at Odaiba for a limited time from March 14th

ABAL Co., Ltd. will be holding the VR horror attraction “Labyrinth of Fear: Labyrinth,” developed in collaboration with Fujikyu Corporation, for a limited time from Saturday, March 14th to Sunday, June 14th, 2026. The venue will be on the 6th floor of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba. Tickets are on sale on the official website.

“The Labyrinth of Fear: Labyrinth” is a VR attraction based on the horror facility “The Labyrinth of Fear” operated by Fuji-Q Highland. Based on the worldview of “The Labyrinth of Fear: The Ward Writhing in Darkness,” which has been visited by over 5.3 million people since its opening in 2003, the attraction unfolds a completely original story that depicts “the other side of the story and another story.” The setting is a virtual labyrinth with eight floors and a total length of 1 km.

This work was developed using “Scape®,” a location-based XR (combining reality and virtual reality) platform that utilizes ABAL’s proprietary patented technology. While visitors are physically located within a limited space, in VR they can experience the sensation of walking around a vast space thanks to elevators, moving panels, and other features. The virtual space is said to expand the physical space by 10 to 20 times or more, enabling large-scale XR experiences even in spatially constrained environments such as commercial facilities.

During the VR experience, you can take selfies with your avatar and take photos of the virtual space using the rear camera. Images taken can be saved on your smartphone and posted to social media. As of January 2026, the number of photos taken in VR has exceeded 2 million.

The story revolves around the private investigation organization “Kaitai Co., Ltd.” (commonly known as Kaitai), which pursues the mystery that has become a “horrifying labyrinth.” By the summer of 2025, over 20,000 private investigators had participated in the investigation, which was carried out across the country. It is currently being held at Hirakata Park in Osaka and is touring the country.

The VR portion of the experience lasts approximately 30 minutes. Participants must be at least 110cm tall and 7 years old or older. Support is available in Japanese and English.
