Imacreate and Kobe Steel release “WeldNext,” welding training software compatible with MR (Mixed Reality).

Imacreate Co., Ltd. has released “WeldNext,” next-generation welding training software, as a joint venture with Kobe Steel, Ltd. ‘s Welding Division and Kobelco Welding Techno Co., Ltd.

“WeldNext” is a product planned and developed under the leadership of Imacreate. For the welding simulation aspect, Kobe Steel’s Welding Division and Kobelco Welding Techno, which have been involved in training welding personnel for over 60 years, collaborated on the development. The two companies have previously jointly provided VR welding training.

This product allows users to perform welding virtually while visually inspecting the actual work environment and jigs, improving spatial awareness and posture accuracy, which were difficult to achieve with VR alone.

Furthermore, remote instruction capabilities are available. Under network conditions, instructors in different locations can enter the same virtual space and monitor and provide guidance on welding status in real time. This can also be used to build training systems that extend beyond individual locations, such as overseas factories.

Furthermore, the system includes a function to record and save the welding procedures of skilled workers within a VR space. This digitizes skills and know-how that tend to be highly individualized, creating an environment where beginners can refer to them repeatedly at any time.

In addition, we also offer pipe welding training, supporting the acquisition of advanced skills such as posture control, torch angle, and welding sequence.

The predecessor VR welding training software, “NUP Welding,” will be discontinued with the launch of WeldNext. Existing users will see the report logging function terminated upon contract expiration, but the application itself will remain available.

“WeldNext” is planned to be a platform that will continuously receive feature additions and updates even after implementation. Product details can be found on the official website.
