Independent VTuber Mitama Sakumaru has released her self-made tool, “Super Virtual Camera Hand,” for free on BOOTH. The release date is May 5, 2026. This tool allows you to create handcam videos by replacing your real hands with virtual hands.
This tool is post-processing software that overlays VRM avatar hands onto live-action hand videos shot with an iPhone or similar device. By importing a pre-recorded video and overlaying the avatar hands on top, you can create footage that looks like real hands have been replaced with virtual hands. Currently, when VTubers shoot hand videos, they often use gloves or bare hands, making it difficult to create videos that maintain a virtual appearance. This tool is expected to overcome this challenge.
This is an alpha version for Windows PCs only, and currently does not include the ability to modify VRM models. Some operations may require technical knowledge, so users are advised to read the included Readme file beforehand. Use at your own risk.
On October 30, 2025, Mitama Sakumaru posted a video on X using this tool. The video, which demonstrates a loop combo in Duel Masters using handcam footage, has garnered 806,000 views. In the post, she also mentions the possibility of individual VTubers entering the card game handcam video market. The tool released this time is a smartphone-compatible version of this tool.
Look! I’ve created a system that allows Vtubers to record hand-held videos interfering with base reality!
I couldn’t think of anything to record right away, so I proved the loop in Masters Duel. Masters Duel is popular on Nijisanji, but I hope you’ll feel the potential by watching individual Vtubers handle cards! I used 3x speed for a long take to show the feature that allows for long recordings. Oh, you don’t need to understand the loop! pic.twitter.com/hMVJfmceaJ— Sakumaru Mitama🤹Vtuber (@MitamaSakumaru) October 30, 2025
Check it out! I made something that lets me record hand videos using my iPhone while remaining in my Vtuber body!! I’m working hard on the reality manifestation type, but independent Vtubers have a slight advantage here as they can take a more aggressive stance than corporate Vtubers, so I want to keep working hard in the future!! pic.twitter.com/ClcQmm0iHc

Mitama Sakumaru has previously released several self-made tools. In January 2026, she released a tool that allows users to retrofit a VTuber’s face to pre-recorded videos. In the past, she has also produced videos in which she performs juggling alongside real-life performers. She has also worked on videos in which she rides a real horse in her 3D model form and attempts horseback archery, demonstrating her continued pursuit of expressions that fuse reality and virtuality.
