Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will begin offering Roblox-based content as part of its “VIRTUAL G-SHOCK” project, which expands the G-SHOCK shock-resistant watch into a metaverse. Avatar watch items and an official world will be released at noon on July 15th (Japan time). The event is scheduled to run until 8:59 AM on August 3rd (Japan time).
Roblox will be selling G-SHOCK watch items that can be worn on avatars. These are reproductions of the popular “DW-5600” and “GA-2100” models, available in 6 color variations each, for a total of 12 different designs. A utility function is also included, which activates a special effect when you visit an official world while wearing this item. In addition to watches, Roblox will also be selling standard items such as T-shirts, caps, and backpacks.
The official world to be released is the skateboard racing game “Challenge the Skate Obby: G-SHOCK”. In this game, you aim for the finish line while overcoming obstacles, and a variety of tricks can be performed with just jump controls. The course design is reminiscent of G-SHOCK’s durability tests, and the addition of new courses and events is planned for the future.
An event celebrating the release will also be held from the same day. Participate in a race within the world and finish to receive a special item (one time per account). Furthermore, if you finish within a certain time limit, you can also receive a limited-quantity G-SHOCK item.
