Tohokushinsha and Square Enix will be holding the Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Exhibition, “Dragon Quest the DIVE -To the Stage of Unseen Adventures-“. The exhibition will run from July 17 to September 6, 2026. The venue is the 4th and 2nd floors of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku “Harakado” in Harajuku, Tokyo.
The main attraction is the immersive “Dragon Quest VR RIDE.” Wearing a VR headset, you can experience riding a Killer Panther and galloping across a grassland. There are also evasion actions to avoid monsters as you make your way through the forest, and the experience of flying through the sky while feeling the wind. With the added effect of dynamically moving seats, you can enjoy a truly immersive experience.

After experiencing VR RIDE, you can enjoy two exhibits. “The Mirror of Ra” is an exhibit that utilizes face tracking technology. When you look into the mirror, your face is reflected as a monster, and as you move your face, your expression changes as well. At the end, your inner thoughts are also displayed. The other exhibit, “Heart-Pounding Treasure Chest,” is an interactive exhibit where you discover and open a treasure chest in a cave.

A “Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Goods Shop” will also be set up inside the venue. The official catalog will be priced at 3,980 yen, and the Slime cosplay mascot plush toys will be 2,200 yen each. The adventure log motif opening and closing pins will be 1,800 yen each, and various T-shirts will range from 3,900 yen to 5,830 yen.
Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis with specified dates and times, and are sold through Lawson Ticket. The VR RIDE experience is included in the ticket price. The venue is a 1-minute walk from Meiji-jingumae (Harajuku) Station on the Tokyo Metro and a 4-minute walk from Harajuku Station on the JR Line. An event in Osaka is also planned for early spring 2027.
