XGRIDS announces new 3D scanner “Lixel K2” supporting simultaneous output of point cloud, mesh, and 3D Gaussian splatting.

XGRIDS has announced a new 3D scanner, the “Lixel K2.” This professional-grade spatial scanner features LiDAR, a camera, and an RTK module, and weighs approximately 1,200g.

This system efficiently acquires wide-area spatial data while walking around actual sites, and supports sharp point cloud generation with a relative accuracy of 1 cm and a maximum point cloud thickness of 1 cm after post-processing. It is designed for practical use in a wide range of fields, including construction, surveying, facility management, and cultural property archiving.

The software supports three output formats: point cloud, mesh, and 3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS). The data can be used for various purposes, including construction and civil engineering site records, real estate surveys, 3D archiving of cultural properties, and soil volume measurements. Acquired data can be reviewed later and shared among stakeholders, helping to reduce the need for repeated site visits and prevent misunderstandings.

Alongside the release of the Lixel K2, the point cloud processing software “LixelStudio 4.0” will also be officially released. It features improved alignment and leveling accuracy, enabling clean point cloud and mesh generation with reduced noise. This enhances workflow efficiency from data acquisition to final product creation. Furthermore, integration with the LCC Studio, LCC Cloud, and Web Viewer ecosystem allows for cloud sharing, VR display, and video output.

In Japan, two companies, Sekido Co., Ltd. and Active Retech Inc., will be handling the product. Sales are scheduled to begin around June 2026, and both companies are currently accepting inquiries regarding quotations, reservations, and implementation.
