17LIVE Inc. and its group company, mikai Inc., have merged their respective VTuber groups, “GanGun Girls” and “Re:AcT Gaming.” They have now merged to form a new game-focused VTuber group, “VRAID,” which began operations on March 12th.
Amidst intensifying market competition in VTuber content, the purpose of this merger is to consolidate the accumulated know-how and resources under the shared concept of “the gaming domain” of both companies. By combining mikai’s branding power with 17LIVE’s network and organizational management capabilities, we aim for further growth of the group.
“Re:AcT Gaming” was originally created as a spin-off group of “Re:AcT”. “VRAID” is a group that sits on the same level as “Yurukaruto!”, “Re:AcT”, and “Re:AcT KR”.
The members are Yuu Youzaki, Iruka Awawa, Kuna-shiki Rin, Suzu Reino, Yoi Kitsune Inari, Toki Shiratae, Rukusu Tsukinari, Yureru Tsumi, Kokoro Momoi, Nana Nanahoshi, Michiru Kazuki, Cute Berry, and Himari Yume, a total of 13 people.
To coincide with the start of their activities, a live announcement stream was broadcast on the VRAID official YouTube channel at 8 PM on the same day. Nana Nanahoshi served as the MC, with Rukusu Tsukinari, Inari Kitsuneyoi, and Toki Shiratake participating as guests. In a friendly atmosphere, details of the new system and the unique members were introduced.
In addition, the Q&A section of the broadcast will include answers to frequently asked questions from fans. Regarding collaborations between members, the merger will eliminate the barriers between the groups, making it easier to plan larger-scale game events than ever before. Interactions and collaborative projects with the main “Re:AcT” talents will also continue.
