BOOTH’s 3D model category surpasses 10 billion yen in annual sales for the first time, growing rapidly by 179% year-on-year

On February 6th, Pixiv Inc. released a trading white paper on the 3D model category on BOOTH. Its annual transaction volume in 2025 is projected to reach 10.4 billion yen, a 179% increase from the previous year. The market size has expanded more than 30 times in six years, from 310 million yen in 2019. This marks the first time that annual transaction volume has exceeded 10 billion yen.

The number of products handled reached 7.74 million, and the number of orders also increased to 281,000. The average number of orders per user was 27.4, a significant increase from the previous year. There was a growing trend for model buyers to continue purchasing related products such as costumes.

The most common annual spending range is between 5,000 and 6,999 yen. In addition to the core group spending over 100,000 yen, there has also been a significant increase in the casual group spending less than 50,000 yen. There is also a cross-sectional trend of merchandise buyers now using 3D models.

In 2025, the company held a VRChat event and launched an app. The addition of a file transfer function and enhanced external integration have also improved convenience. Going forward, the company is considering improving the searchability of the library used to manage purchased items. It also plans to provide item sorting and gifting functions, as well as support for QR codes for stores. The company will continue to support the growth of the 3D model category and aim to expand its services.
