“Masuizumi Funahashi,” a junmai daiginjo sake created through a collaboration between bookseller VTuber “Meguru Moroboshi,” who loves folklore and contemporary studies, and Masuda Sake Brewery, a long-established sake brewery in Toyama Prefecture, has become available as a return gift for hometown tax donations to Funahashi Village, Toyama Prefecture, starting April 22nd. Donations will be accepted through a donation website operated by Aruyaum Co., Ltd.
“Funahashi” is a Junmai Daiginjo sake made from Koshihikari rice “Bandori Rice” grown in Funahashi Village, polished to a 50% milling ratio, and brewed over approximately one month using low-temperature fermentation. It uses groundwater from the Tateyama mountain range and is characterized by a melon-like aroma, a subtle sweetness, refreshing acidity, and a crisp dryness. It is a rare sake that is only sold in limited locations within Toyama Prefecture.
The donation amount is 15,000 yen. We ship nationwide, and items will be shipped within two months of your donation. You can make a donation here.
To commemorate this collaboration, all donors will receive a Morohoshi Meguru acrylic bottle charm as a gift. The collaboration commemorative video, “[Meguru Bura Vlog] A Guide to a Through Stroll Toyama,” was released on YouTube on April 22nd at 8 PM. Additionally, a collaboration commemorative live stream featuring Funahashi Mayor and Watanabe Hikaru as guests is scheduled for May 1st at 9 PM.
Moroboshi Meguru is a VTuber affiliated with GAMABOOKS. She primarily focuses on academic content, such as interviews with folklorists and museum visits. She also serves as the editor-in-chief of the virtual cultural dissemination history magazine “Hukyu”.
