FreeStyle Co., Ltd. opened “1st Stage,” an XR live music venue, in Hachioji City, Tokyo, on June 19, 2026. The venue specializes in live performances by VTubers and virtual artists. It features permanent transparent LED panels, which the company claims are “the first of their kind in a live music venue in Japan.”
In the 1st Stage, characters are projected onto transparent panels, overlaying the real stage with virtual avatars. This creates a live experience that makes it feel as if you are actually there.
The facility features LED screens and transparent panels, along with lockers, a bar counter, dressing rooms, and a rehearsal room. A dedicated bartender is always on duty at the bar counter, and they can also prepare original drinks. Beauty appliances are provided free of charge in the dressing rooms, allowing performers to prepare right up until the show starts. In addition to events with live audiences and live streaming, the venue can also be used as a seminar space. Individuals and small teams can host full-fledged XR live events.
