On March 27th, “Astronomy Club,” a “chill and game” world themed around “a clubroom connected to space,” was released on VRChat. It can be accessed using PCVR or a standalone Meta Quest.

This world was created by MyDearest Co., Ltd. in cooperation with The Asahi Shimbun Company. We aim to deliver an astronomical observation experience that many users can enjoy.
What is the “Astronomical Observation Club”?
One afternoon at a certain school, a clap of thunder suddenly connected the world outside the classroom to “space”—. “The Astronomical Observation Club” is a game world in this mysterious classroom where you catch shooting stars and summon and collect unknown creatures called “Space Ghosts (Ama).”
It combines the “chill” (relaxing) time spent chatting with friends and waiting for a shooting star to appear with the “game” element of aiming to complete the collection of all 45 characters.
Three key features of the “Astronomical Observation Club”
Photograph a shooting star and summon a “space ghost (Ama)”!
Outside the window, a beautiful expanse of outer space unfolds. Players use telescopes and cameras to photograph (capture) shooting stars and planets that occasionally appear. By placing the photographed stars into a device called an “astrolabe,” players can summon “Amuas,” ghosts that travel through space. Amua come in 45 different adorable animal-themed forms (5 ranks from normal to secret). Sometimes, summoning may fail, resulting in useless items such as exploding bombs… Enjoy the unexpected twists and turns as you aim to complete your collection!
It can also be an opportunity to learn about space (in cooperation with Asahi Shimbun).

To provide an opportunity to experience “real space,” we have set up a corner introducing the work of the Asahi Shimbun’s Space Department, which has reported on numerous astronomical events such as meteor showers. Photographs of the starry sky taken from the summit of Mauna Kea in Hawaii are also on display, allowing visitors to experience the true beauty of the universe.
Join the club (subscription) and become closer to Amua
This world supports VRChat’s Economy Creator (subscription feature). By joining the “Astronomical Observation Club” (paying a fee), you can forge an even deeper bond with your favorite Amua.
- Partner Feature: Unlike typical one-time encounters, you can summon Amua anytime, have her follow you around, or let her freely explore the world.
- Naming & Raising: You can name your favorite Amua. As you spend time together, their “affection level” increases, and their appearance changes dramatically, such as developing a halo or wings.
- Star Rush: Once a day, you can activate “Probability Mode,” which causes a large number of special celestial bodies to appear. Everyone present benefits, guaranteeing you’ll become a hero.
Avatar accessories for sale

The “Space Ghosts (Amua)” (8 basic types) that you can encounter in the world will be sold as VRChat avatar accessories on “BOOTH”. You can also adventure in the metaverse space with your cute companions outside the world.

Comment from the person in charge

Hello! I’m BUSSAN, and I was in charge of planning and directing this world. I remember being deeply moved when I looked up at the Leonid meteor shower when I was in elementary school, and I’ve loved space ever since. Space and the starry sky are worlds that are always close to the unknown, and I believe that stargazing, looking into its depths through a telescope, is inherently a very exciting experience. The starting point for creating this world was the idea of how to deliver the joy of “spending time gazing at the stars with friends” in a more casual way. I felt that simply observing wasn’t enough, so I designed it so that players can constantly experience “encounters with the unknown” through the character Amua. On the other hand, expressing the charm of stargazing in VR is not easy, and I tried various approaches (in fact, there are various prototype telescopes placed in the world). In order to allow as many people as possible to enjoy it, I made it playable even with just MetaQuest. In the end, I feel that I was able to arrange stargazing, which tends to feel somewhat intimidating, into something very simple, and something that can be experienced along with unexpected discoveries and fun. I hope this world will give you a chance to feel a little closer to the starry sky.
