“SNOW MIKU 2026,” a live performance using AR glasses “XREAL,” was a resounding success with all seats sold out.

On February 7th and 8th, the “SNOW MIKU 2026” Otaru-za Digital Show powered by XREAL, a collaborative event with “SNOW MIKU 2026,” was held at Wing Bay Otaru in Otaru City.

This event was a digital show utilizing the latest model of AR glasses, “XREAL One Pro” (planned by Gugenka). Attendees wore the AR glasses and experienced a three-dimensional image of Snow Miku appearing superimposed on the theater space. Snow Miku danced to the theme song of “SNOW MIKU 2026,” appearing in the theater as if she were actually there. Unlike traditional screen screenings, this was an immersive experience where the audience’s own field of vision became the stage.

Gugenka implemented spatial scanning of the venue and designed the presentation based on seating arrangements to ensure stable AR display. They meticulously optimized the scale, positioning, and depth representation of the characters. Synchronization of music and motion was also designed to match the rhythm and intonation of the theme song, resulting in a presentation where realistic theater spaces and digital characters coexist.

To maximize the personalized experience unique to AR glasses, emphasis was placed on layering the AR experience with the real world. The event attracted attention from the pre-sale stage, and the weekend performances sold out completely. Both days were filled to capacity.
