Hololive Productions has unveiled a new system for the “hololive OFFICIAL CARD GAME” (hereafter referred to as “Holoca”) called the “Holo Projection System (tentative name).” Hololive VTuber Watame Tsunomaki is trying it out for the first time in the video.
Holoca is a trading card game in which players produce stages for Hololive members (Holomen). Players aim to reach the top of the Hololive Extremer Cup by sending “cheers” to the members. Currently, multiple card decks are on sale, and real-life battles are actively being held. Please see below for detailed rules.
The biggest feature of the newly announced “HoloPro System (tentative name)” is its unique image recognition technology that reads paper cards. The camera recognizes paper cards placed on the play mat and automatically displays damage calculations and procedural guides. Controls are designed to be intuitive hand actions, such as pushing opponent’s cards with your fingers for attacking, or turning your palm up to advance your turn.
Regarding the battle function, a CPU battle mode has already been implemented and can be used for practice purposes. In the future, we aim to implement online real-time battles, and aim to create an environment where players can battle each other from different locations. Currently, system development is given priority, and adjustments to the UI and other aspects are planned for the future.
A program using this system is also planned for the Expo Stage in March, and further information will be announced on the official Holoka website.
